Visual Storytelling at Trollbeads Ayala Center Cebu
Last 17th of June, Trollbeads celebrated Trollbeads Day 2017 with Visual Storytelling workshops in both Cebu and Manila branches. I was lucky enough to be part of this event as Trollbeads chose me to conduct the Cebu Visual Storytelling Styling & Photography Workshop which was held at Trollbeads, Ayala Center Cebu. It was a fun and intimate gathering as the workshop was only open to Trollbeads customers.
In case you’re not familiar with what visual story telling is, it is a story told through the use of visual media such as photography, illustration or video and can be enhanced with graphics, music, voice etc. Today’s visual arts include photos or videos we share on social media or blogs.
During the workshop, I shared to them personal tips on how I usually take Instagram-worthy photos and also how I edit my photos before posting them online. Even though most of the attendees are not so fond of photography or posting photos online, I love how they’re very attentive and interested to learn. I mentioned to them different photo apps and filters I use to edit my photos in order to maintain a light/pastel feed on Instagram (@jeancyu) and some of the attendees even downloaded the apps right then and there! The store manager even told me that she received messages from the attendees telling her that their interest in photography increased after attending the workshop. *Kilig*
After sharing with them points to consider in taking photos and different apps I use to edit my photos on Instagram, it was their turn to apply what they have learned to get their creative juices flowing. Since they were required to wear their own Trollbeads bracelet or necklace that day, I asked them to come up with a creative photo focusing on their own Trollbeads.
It was indeed a fun afternoon at Trollbeads! Once again, thank you Trollbeads for having me! Events like this definitely inspires me to continue doing what I love to do! Shout out to Wrought MNL for the hand outs and Instagram-worthy props! ‘Til the next event!
